DIY Project: Studded Denim Shirt (in 4 easy steps)

I came across this Topshop studded denim shirt (that is currently sold out) and got inspired to make my own. I bought my studs from StudsandSpikes.com for a pack of 100 gold studs for only $4.80. I then went to the thrift store and was able to find this light wash denim shirt for only $3.

A few pointers I would give for this DIY studding project is to definitely use a pair of scissors or a knife instead of your fingers to make sure you secure the studs the right way. Also do NOT do this on the same day you polish your nails or get a manicure because it will ruin them.

Here are the 4 super easy steps pic by pic:

And here is the finished product.

Chill Weekend

I must say that this was probably one of the most relaxing weekends I've had since the month of October began. My boyfriend came to visit and I finally got a chance to go to the movies and see "Taken 2" which was exactly the intense, action-packed thriller movie I was looking for. I also went to Gloria's which just opened up in Houston this past June and I have to say it was even better than I remember. They had two in Dallas (one in Arlington, the other in Fort Worth) that I used to go to all the time and I'm so glad they decided to move down to Houston as well. I think this just might replace my hometown favorite mexican spot. With delicious enchiladas and $1 mimosas who could turn that down?

October Wishlist

October Wishlist

October has been one busy month for me (school wise) and I find myself adding more and more items to my fashion wishlist. I was surprised to find such good quality items currently available at Forever 21 online right now, such as this polka dot top (which is so J. Crew/Kate Spade-esque) and statement necklace. Zara is always my reliable source for high fashion items at reasonable prices and I fell in love with these snake-skin trousers and studded heels.

What fashion items do you all have on your wishlist right now?

8 Work/Internship Wardrobe Essentials

Work Essentials

Red DressWhite Button DownBlack BlazerTweed SkirtFlats, Heels: Christian Louboutin

As I've finally approached the beginning of my senior year in college (YAY!!!) I've definitely learned a thing or two about how companies expect you to dress when you land an internship/job. I honestly believe your outfit says ALOT about you, whether you intend it to or not. These essentials are also of course perfect for interviews which is the most important step in the process of landing a job/internship since it is the first impression that you will make to the company.

Tweed, A-line skirts are a perfect choice because they will literally go with everything in your closet and instantly make you feel business savvy. A watch is also a must since most companies have very strict phone policies in the office. I actually own this nude ASOS chain purse and have worn it to almost every interview I've ever had and continue to receive so compliments on it. You definitely don't want the added stress of having to carry around a huge purse so this alternative is a great option. A white button down is the most basic of all basics for work-wear 101 and can easily be jazzed up if you want to go out for drinks or a get together after work.

When it comes to the shoes I personally think it is best to keep things simple yet classy with a nude/black pump or flat. The last essential I chose is a structured black blazer that will instantly pull your complete look together.
